Pioneer Primary School traces back to 1995, originally on Jurong West Street 81. In 2022 it merged with Juying Primary School so its old site could be freed up for the Jurong Region Line MRT extension, and the merged school ran from Juying's campus with no new Primary 1 intake while its new home in Tengah was built. It reopened Primary 1 registration through the 2025 P1 Registration Exercise and is now the first primary school serving the Tengah estate.
Its Applied Learning Programme (ALP), "Advocacy through Thinking", uses the Design Thinking framework together with a Knowledge Building approach and hands-on experiential learning, aiming to develop pupils into problem-solvers who can take on real issues in their community.
Its Learning for Life Programme (LLP), "Graciousness and Fitness through Music and Dance", builds pupils' confidence through ethnic, cultural and modern dance forms across the six primary years, with Primary 5 and 6 pupils also introduced to music composition and lyric writing. Pioneer is not a Gifted Education Programme centre.
A Ministry of Education Kindergarten, MOE Kindergarten @ Pioneer, sits on the same Tengah Garden Avenue site, so a child who attends the MK there can register for P1 through the Phase 2B priority route, alongside the school's own Phase 2B Parent Volunteer Scheme.

So far, not very. In its first intake at Tengah in 2025, no phase went to a ballot and the school still had vacancies left after Phase 2C Supplementary.
